Freeway Of Life

New Music Tuesday, Episode 4: "Freeway Of Life".

In a collaborative effort with the guys from Blue Planets, we present this quasi-industrial "wall of sound" approach via internet-based studio production.

Music by Blue Planets, lyrically enhanced by Bushfinger Music Project.

Crappy Microphone SR*

"Done? When is a song ever "done"?" -- Lars Ulrich (St. Anger DVD)

"The blessing and curse of digital recording is the ability to constantly tweak things slightly, w/o degrading the original audio quality." -- Bushfinger

Crappy Microphone

It's Episode 3 of "The Bushfinger Music Project GarageBand Show", titled "Crappy Microphone". The song pretty much speaks for itself. Experimenting with show formats, "Episode 3" lacks the witty commentary and information from your's truly. ;)

If you really want to listen to the full show/ aka rough draft, you can get to it here:
http://www.irieman.com/music/music/GarageBandShow_no3.mp3

Show Notes:
The audio of Episode 2- um... sucks?

This week we're using a Telex H-831 (hence the concept for this week's song, but better than last week's mic)

People actually like "The MINI Song". Someone has even suggested a video! (hmmm...)

We accept donations of money and equipment.

The song: Crappy Microphone.

Yet Another Brush With Fame

I went to the drive-in movie
with a couple my friends.
The show was cool and funny
but that ain't where this story ends.

I told em all about the song
that won me a cool prize
and somebody that i barely know said
THAT WAS YOU?

Not a song, but should be! (A true story, too!)

If I hear the word EMO one more time...

Why I oughta...

Doing "research" on the 2006 Warped Tour line up, apparently every band since 2004 is "emo" now. What is emo?

"Emo (slang), a slang term used to describe a wide range of fashion styles and attitudes somewhat affiliated with emo music... ...In a 1985 interview by Rites of Spring in Flipside Magazine, members of the band noted that some of their fans in DC were starting to call them "emo", arguably because of the state of emotion that the band displayed during their shows. In later years, the word emo was viewed as a contraction of "emotional hardcore" or "emocore"...

Hrmmmph. Back in my day, we used call it... "rock and roll?"

Boxy. But Good.

Almost a full 24 hours later and I'm just now getting a chance to listen to "episode 2" on something other than expensive a** headphones. Sounds like we're broadcasting out of someone's kitchen! (Or, in this case, the dining room just next to the kitchen!?). Car stereo test: boxy, bassy... gonna have to fire that dern engineer or get a better nicrophone!
Assessment:

Apologies for the audio quality. So far we've spent $0 putting this podcast together- hoping for a high ROI! ;)

Two-Blog Rule

Still fairly new on the blog-scene, I think anyone trying to keep more than two-blogs is wasting valuable time and energy. The official BMP-generated blog count is five- Yep- FIVE DIFFERENT BLOGS! That's taking comedy to a new level! Gotta drop a couple of them...

MySpace, LiveJournal, Tripod... No one reads them anyway! Plus, everyone should just bookmar k The Bushfinger Music Project GarageBand Show anyway...

At What Price, Fame?

Not like I consider myself even close to famous, but now and then weird stuff happens and you have to think about how one would handle fame (*giant tangent: if anyone has seen the HBO series "Entourage", I'd love someone to explain WTF it's all about!?)

Okay where was I... It's always interesting to see someone you *don't* know post comment on your blog- especially when it says,

"I love the Mini Cooper song. I voted for it on whiteroof. Any chance I could get the lyrics from you. I would love to sing along but I can't quite make em all out lol."

Niiiiiiiiiiiice!!
